Our Community

It doesn’t matter in our movement if you are a monotheist, a polytheist an atheist or anything in between. As long as you are committed to a life of non-violence, including what you consume, then you are welcome to join us. All life is sacred and violence is against who we are as a people.

The Inner Light

So, we generally discuss the inner light, that part of the divine that is within all sentient life. You might imagine that inner light as a spark of sentience, you might imagine that as part of a cosmic mind - getting to know itself. How you conceptualise this is part of your own spiritual path.

Tūruapō

When people ask me how I personally perceive this inner light, I discuss that all sentient beings have a remarkable gift - the ability to perceive self and others. For me, this is the universe creating beings who can help it understand itself. Beings who are the universe in communion with itself. To destroy any sentient being is to diminish the universe itself and a great wrong. Regarding deities? I do not imagine anyone in the sky looking down on us. I imagine this as an earlier stage of our spiritual evolution. This is part of my conceptualisation, part of my spiritual evolution.

May all beings know peace!

Society of Peace

We are not of this world, but are redeemed out of it. Its ways, its customs, its worships, its weapons, we cannot follow. For we are come into the peaceable kingdom of Christ, where swords are beaten into ploughshares and spears into pruning hooks, and none shall hurt nor destroy. — George Fox, Epistle 203 (1659)
